2019 Indoor National Dragfest Photo Coverage: Our Second Load Of Images From This Event

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – We’re back with more cool Joe Grippo photos of the 2019 Indoor National Dragfest which did two really important things. Firstly it pulled drag racing enthusiasts out of their shops and garages and secondly it showcased cars that we all know and love and many that people have not seen for a long, long time. As Joe Grippo was our embedded man on the scene he did not waste a frame on boring cars that won’t excite your straight line senses.

Shows like this one have been a staple of the hot rodding and drag racing world in cold weather climates really since the sport got national traction. Hot rod clubs that operated makeshift tracks needed money to fund their ventures and their dreams of expansion. Because of that, they would have winter shows to simple collect bucks and provide a place for fans to come see the drivers and cars that they loved up close and in a quieter environment than at the actual drag strip.

This particular event drew some absolutely amazing stuff. Much of it is here for you to see!

Who in their right mind would destroy a classic and valuable Jaguar sports car by turning it into a dragster?

A Chevy loving mouth breathing moron that’s who!

What kind of bitter cunt always have to leave negative comments on what talented people do with their own time and money? A retarded, talentless fuck-up named Chevy Hatin’ Mad Geordie, that’s who…

Hi Geordie, did you know that the English Bros. also have done an XKE and a MGA drag cars, helped to inspire my custom framed SBC (500hp) MGB. Personally I find Geordie’s vitriol about anything with a Chevy engine in it hilarious (1 ride in my MGB would scare the whatever out of him) and he usually has me ROFL.

Very cool stuff. Hat’s off to Joe for including the Javelin! Definitely curious about what’s hiding under the hood there.

The first time I went to Beaver Springs in the early to mid 80s there was a Jag XK running there with a BBC in it. I couldda sworn it was red but maybe it wasn’t. I’m assuming it was those same guys and possibly the same car as the one at the show?

All their cars run strong and are really impressive.
