2019 NHRA Dutch Classic Action Photo Coverage: More Wheels Up Fun From The Drags!

2019 NHRA Dutch Classic Action Photo Coverage: More Wheels Up Fun From The Drags!

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – Thanks to Joe Grippo we’re back today with more awesome action photos from the 2019 NHRA Dutch Classic. It is interesting that in drag racing, like all other motorsports, some events just have legacy and legs beyond anyone’s expectations. I mean, how many different drag racing events have been born and died in the time that the Dutch Classic has been running. Hundreds? Thousands?

Hell, this thing has always been an NHRA event but during its tenure but the AHRA and IHRA have passed by the wayside (IHRA still exists, but let’s be real here) and it continues to bring hundreds upon hundreds of cars to “The Grove” every fall to exercise their muscles in the crisp air of Reading, Pennsylvania.

We hope you enjoy these photos of cool cars both on and off the track. Sitting and getting ready or leaping skyward with their engines roaring!

    Joe, great shots.!!!

How about some top-end and/or chute popping shots…?

As for the empty stands…I can’t speak to it other than cite popular culture and it’s fascination with unnecessary danger (i.e. no prep, no wheelie bar, street racing, etc.) and drama (NPK and SO). Scripted and non-scripted smack talk seems to be the thing right now.
