(Photo by Dave Nutting) – Yeah, yeah, we know that the mountain motor pro stock cars are not by traditional definition “sportsman” machines but we’re including them in this gallery from Epping, New Hampshire because they are awesome and we love them. Good reasons? We think so. The sportsman racing on Sunday at Epping was a hardcore and cutthroat as it gets on the NHRA tour.

Because of the track’s location, many racers come down from Canada to compete and what’s interesting is that while the vast majority of the competitors are fairly local to the facility there are always a couple people every year form points far south or west. People on a drag racing summer vacation or others who simply want to hit all the races on tour.

You’ll dig the wheelies and action photos here. Oh, that orange and black Nova you’ll see a bunch of in here? That’s my dad. He had a great national event and went deep into the rounds on Sunday. His best national event ever.
