In a world that has been forcibly separated over the last few months, the incredible technology of 2020 continues to keep us together, however far apart we may physically be. Case in point, this video. We’re going to literally ride with Ron Capps on a beautiful Friday evening qualifying session at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado. Ron is wearing some high-definition camera glasses and they not only provide an eye-level perspective, they do it with a level of clarity and definition that is completely nuts.

Normally video from inside a car like this is complete squiggle-vision and while cool, kind of hard to watch. Not this one. You get the video, you get the experience, you get the speed, and you get the idea that funny car drag racing is serious freaking business.

Bandimere Speedway is one of the neatest drag strips on Earth and the fanbase in Denver is super hardcore. They jam pack the place three days in a row and they are always rewarded with a good show. Bandimere is a mechanically challenging place to go race and it is the first stop on the vaunted Western Swing portion of the NHRA Mello Yellowfins Drag Racing season. It’s a race that people have been going to for decades and multi-generational drag racing fans fill the pits.

Man, I cannot wait to go drag racing again. It’s fun to watch stuff like this but boy it’s another to see it, smell it, and taste it in person. Gnarly! Want to drive one?
