Watch Andrew Alepa’s Radial vs The World Corvette Make More Than 5,200hp On The Hub Dyno!

It’s really hard to explain to someone how incredible Radial vs the World drag racing is until they see it. No, these cars do not have the raw insanity that nitro cars do, but they perform in ways that no one ever thought possible out of small tired, full bodied, fully suspended door slammers. Currently, Andrew Alepa is the owner of one of the most amazing of the RvW machines on Earth in the form of this C7 Corvette that is primarily driven by Daniel Pharris. The car has won races, taken flight, and in some ways, lead the class in technology and performance at times. Anywhere this thing shows up it can win. Fact.

The car runs a ProLine Racing engines hemi engine and FuelTech EFI to feed and control it. ProLine works closely with companies like Alan Johnson Performance Engineering, Bill Miller Engineering, and others to source the specific parts and pieces of a build. Many of the parts in these engines have been designed in partnership with the specific manufacturers. They are constantly working on stuff like new designs for blocks and heads among other stuff.

The rules of Radial vs The World are largely centered around weight and engine combo. The mightiest engine combo is seemingly the hemi style motor with huge by large turbos. In this case Alepa’s car has a 520-ish cubic inch hemi with twin 102mm turbochargers. The engine is on methanol fuel. The result is that on a hub dyno the car makes more than 5,200hp at the tires. This is incredible stuff and it certainly speaks to the deep 3-second eighth mile performances these cars are turning in.

Watch the front wheels of the car almost come off the ground when the pull is made. Totally wild!

Simply AMAZING, To think back in the late 80’s early nineties nitro fueled funny cars and dragsters were in that range.
