Ouch Video: Watch This Hot Rodded, Bad Fast Viper Suffer A Flaming Engine Failure And Hard Wall Contact In Texas

I guess today is wild drag strip video day. What you are about to see below is painful to watch. Normally we say that when we see a Viper pull around the corner at the drag strip because the cars are not all that easy to wheel down the strip and the majority of owners are a few degrees less than clueless. It makes for a rough show but an entertaining one for an announcer when some low horsepower mom buggy is able to out run a tire smoking Viper owner who dumped the clutch at full throttle. This is not that scene. In fact, this is the opposite of that scene.

This particular car was known as the “White Snake” and was a 1,200hp (at the wheels) modified Viper that would run 190mph in the half mile and was known as a drag strip destroyer wherever it showed up. The car had gained loads of internet and racing fame through the videos and accomplishments that it had racked up over the time that the owner was pouring more and more resources and engineering into the car. We have shown video of this thing in the past making big speed runs and leveling opponents but the meter ran out on the car on the drag strip in Baytown, Texas.

During the course of what seemed to be a clean and tidy run, all of a sudden the engine failed in catastrophic fashion, throwing oil on the exhaust and igniting a big fire. Consequently the oil that was hitting the exhaust also apparently made it to the tires and the car makes a hard and immediate right into the concrete wall at speed. This was a big hit and a fatal blow to the car. The driver jumps out and scampers away immediately.

Tough stuff. They pushed this thing to the limits for a long time and the engine finally cried uncle.
