(Photos by Joe Grippo) Drag Week has long been one of our favorite events, as we were on the first one and many since, and we love running photos from the event’s many stops. When Grippo decided to spend a couple days shooting photos on this year’s Drag Week we were thrilled because we knew we’d get some cool stuff. Well he did not disappoint, but we somehow lost a whole bunch of the photos and never got to post them. Until now that is. We’ve been running ATCO photos from Drag Week 2019, but here are some new photos that Grippo shot at Cecil County. This is the first of two galleries we’ve got from Cecil County, so stay tuned for more. Remember, each of these cars and trucks is not only racing each day, for five days straight, but also driving cross country from track to track with no support vehicles. This is street car racing at its best.

Was that an OPEL KADET? PLYMOUTH HORIZON? AWESOME!!! Gotta admire the balls it takes to pilot that stuff!
It´s an Opel Ascona.
The team is from Sweden.
The Opel (being from the Buick camp) kinda resembles a ’66 Skylark in the shape of the grille, bumper, and leading edge of the hood. I’ve seen those Kadetts occasionally over the years but never noticed that similarity to the Skylark before.
