Because I’ve built many cars at the last minute, and thrashed for days and days, just to hit the road at some predetermined time in order to make an event. And when you drive out of the shop, with everything “done” or at least “done enough”, you are hoping for an eventful trip. And in my experience those uneventful trips are possible, but they happen about half the time at best. The rest of the time you drive for minutes or hours, but at some point something goes wrong. With any luck the things that go wrong are an easy fix and you can get back on the road within minutes or hours.
When things go wrong on a brand new build, they are often the result of the short build time, the thrash itself, or parts you just didn’t get to look at well enough before they went on.
In this video, Alex Taylor gets the thrash done on the 1955 Chevy and they hit the road for a bit of a test drive on their way to Rocky Mountain Race Week. No, they aren’t driving it the whole way, but they get some miles on it before they get to Race Week and start the real road trip.
Check it out and tell us what you think, cause we know the thrash is real!
Yawwwnnnnn
Kind of fun watching along, cool things being built, BUT PUT YOUR SEATBELT ON!
Good Luck on the quest for the 6’s
Pure torture.
