When it comes time to add real power to your late model Coil On Plug, or Coil Near Plug, engine an upgrade can sometimes feel daunting. It’s not like the “old days” when you bought a single MSD Blaster 2 coil and a set of plug wires. Or is it? I bring this up because on more than one occasion I’ve heard someone complain about having to buy a set of high-powered aftermarket coils and use the same comparison. But it really isn’t a fair one since that “old days” purchase would have also required a new MSD distributor in order to be a real comparision with today’s ignition coil upgrade. After all, the computer is doing all the work that a traditional distributor would have done before. So get your upgrade on and buy a set of new MSD coils for your Godzilla if you are going to add boost, nitrous, compression, or all three!
