It’s funny because gasoline and diesel fuel additives are incredibly common on auto parts store shelves, and there are some that certainly can be a help, but the truth is that gasoline today is better than ever. All of these products, except one, improved the lubricity of the fuel, and all of them increased the cetane of the diesel fuel. However, some of them brought along some unwanted tradeoffs for that performance enhancement. The results made it clear that not all diesel fuel additives are created equal. Some work better than others, and some can actually mask underlying issues.
