The Rules Are Set! Gas Monkey Vs. Roadkill. Let The Whining Begin

The Rules Are Set! Gas Monkey Vs. Roadkill. Let The Whining Begin

In a move that seems incredibly strange for both parties, the Roadkill guys have called out the Gas Monkey guys for a “drag race”. It’s of course NOT a drag race, but that’s what they are calling it, and since it’s Gas Monkey Vs. Roadkill there is a pretty good chance that somebody is screwing something up. If you missed Richard Rawlings accepting the challenge a few weeks ago with as many expletives as possible, CLICK HERE TO SEE HIS FIRST VIDEO RESPONSE. This second video you are about to see below is in response to Freiburger’s rules for the throwdown. Sounding more like Drag Week rules than an actual call out, Richard bitches and moans through them as he explains to Aaron why the Roadkill guys suck, etc, and gives them a hard time for having someone else build the car for them.

In all honesty I happen to think that both parties here are less than qualified to call each other out for some kind of drag race, but I will defend Freiburger and Finnegan having their car built as it was NOT being built initially for such a shootout. Diversified Creations in Michigan has been working on the Charger doing a Hellcat drivetrain swap since before the hairbrained scheme came along to race the Gas Monkeys, and will undoubtedly put together a stout piece.

As you’ll see in the video, this whole thing is going down at the Pontiac Silverdome which is slated to be torn down. Before that though the city has allowed a car show to go on there with 1/8th mile drag racing going on in the parking lot. Street race style, which is how Richard and Freiburger are going to face off.

Should we start a few wagers on what is going to happen? Can we get our name in the hat to take on the winner?

Seems pretty simple: 1/8 drag race, Hellcat engine, 12″ rear street tiresmax, stock body, stock frame, stock suspension. I don’t see either team having some huge advantage over the other. Rawlings didn’t say – it is 2 out of 3 or a single race?

I sure don’t read Richard as bitching and moaning there…and if those are “Drag Week” rules, they are also: F&F went out to the shop to (yes) see what was being built for them, and made that “the rules”. There ain’t enough credibility left there to bother following it any further.
