(Words by Thomas Lohnes) – The Fast and the Furious is a franchise all car guys and girls know and love (well, at least KNOW – ed.). The first and third movies helped reignite the car culture here in America especially among enthusiasts JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars. The ninth installment was announced in a Superbowl ad and the ad said it would be coming out May 22nd of this year. Well, about that last part. Not so much. As of recently there has been a terrible pandemic called many things: COVID-19, Coronavirus, and my personal favorite, the China Cough. Names regardless, this virus has had a severe impact on the world as of recently, cancelling events such as the Geneva International Motor Show, postponing the entire NBA season, and now the Launch of Fast 9.
Yes, sadly the new movie in the Fast franchise is being delayed a whole 11 months, now coming out April 2nd2021 instead of May 22nd 2020. This movie features the return of Han, a Character who “died” at the end of the third installment in the franchise (Tokyo Drift) after crashing his Veilside-kitted RX-7. He will return driving a Mk V Toyota Supra and a more interesting choice, a Fiero with a giant rocket strapped to it. Dominic Torreto is back once again repping Dodge with a Charger Hellcat Widebody and what looks like a Durango Hellcat. Overall, this movie should be a great installment and I personally can’t wait for it.
But sadly, we have to wait. The 10th installment was supposed to come in 2021, but that will most likely be delayed too. Expect to see theaters sold out when this movie actually comes out, and maybe a car meet in the parking lot.

Only thing sad about this is they are still making these garbage movies. All these movies did was ignite and inspire a group of clueless idiots to talk about “nos” (pisses me off) and put stickers and fart cans on every pile of crap import (and domestic) sedan on the streets. Please make them stop!
