Every year our friends at Stith Printing and Legends of Nitro compile some of the best photography available to create real, old school, wall-hanging printed calendars. In previous years, owner Kevin Stith only featured the ground pounding NHRA Heritage Series and IHRA nitro funny cars. Now, by popular demand, there’s a new calendar saluting some legendary AA/Fuel Altereds as well as the current crop in competition, many of those fuel car owners have their apparel done there.
The amazing drag racing photographers who have contributed their work to this effort are Mike Burghardt, Jeff Burghardt, Chris Graves, Tara Graves, Lou Hart, Bob Snyder, Ginger Snyder and Zak Hawthorne.
Thankfully this year, veteran shooter Tom West opened up his awesome vault loaded with vintage Fuel Altered photos of the Magnificent 7 (above), the Mob, Nanook, Pure Hell, Easy Rider, Burkholder Brothers, the Heidelberg Roadster and so many more. Many of them were shot at the long gone Orange County International Raceway.
In the funny car ranks you’ll find both Jason Rupert’s 3-time IHRA and 3-time NHRA Heritage Series Champ Littlefield & Rupert Camaro (above) and NHRA Heritage Series Champ Kris Krabill in the Austin & O’Brien Northwest Hitter Firebird. Other floppers included are California Hustler, McAttack, Crop Duster, John Hale’s One Bad Texan, Don Hudson, Nitroholic, Iceman, Kazanjian Lemon & Konno and Mr. Explosive – nitro funny cars from coast-to-coast and Canada.
Stith Printing gives these calendars away for FREE at events like the upcoming Good Vibrations March Meet and the GoodGuys event at Pleasanton from their overstocked T-shirt trailer.
This year Kevin has offered FREE calendars to the first fifty BangShift.com readers, but you’ve got to pay for the postage or shipping. Depending on where you live – the shipping is approximately $3.75 – $4.25, but you’ve got to be quick to be one of the first fifty to ask for either the Funny Car calendar or the Fuel Altered calendar.
Send an email to: [email protected] including a mailing address and phone number, they are going to need your credit card number, but wait until they ask for it, the people at Stith will get in touch with you for the shipping charges.
Stith’s Legends of Nitro also maintains the 260 MPH Club for Nitro Funny Cars and the 265 MPH Club for Front Motored Top Fuel.
Continuing the ‘gift giving’ season, this is not a bad way to start off the new year with some fresh nitro fumes on your mom’s Kitchen bulletin board or the wall of your macho, Man Cave! Thanks to Legends of Nitro!
