QuarantinePiece Theater: Check Out Decade Of Thrills II – The Thunder Of The 80s – Evans and Prudhomme Call It

Let’s say you’re stuck at home like we are. No racing, kids have school cancelled, the restaurants have been all but closed down, and basically all else with them. What are you supposed to do? You are supposed to attack the internet like a wombat and see loads of cool stuff that you normally don’t have “time” to watch. Frankly, all many of us have right now IS time as we wait for this lame virus to get its act together and get the hell out of here. We’ll be running our QuarantinePiece Theater series for as long as we need to and we hope that is not a long time!

Or opening salvo here is Decade of Thrills II: The Thunder of The 80s. This was an awesome video when it first came out and it is great now. It’s the follow up from the original Decade of Thrills which was hosted by Don Prudhomme and Steve Evans. Well, those two guys reprise their roles here and they pick it up in 1980 and carry it way into the late 1980s with highlights from every NHRA pro category and sportsman highlights as well.

From seeing the rivalries of Bob Glidden and Lee Shepherd ramp up, to the wackiness of funny car and top fuel action, it is non-stop slam, bam fun. This is not all crash stuff it is also performance and heads-up highlights but there’s a fair amount of wreckage in this one as well. There are some stunning wrecks like the one Tim Grose suffers early on in this one.

If you are a “student” of the game, this video is mandatory watching!

I have a whole stack of these and ‘and they walked away’, crash&crunch, world street finals, and more. Haven’t found the box they are in. When I do…it’s marathon time…!
