(Photos by Benoit Pigeon) – We’re back with another great set of images from Benoit Pigeon at the 2019 World Outlaw Nationals in Orlando, Florida. This race fell into the grand scheme of the winter drag racing world perfectly, allowing the premier pro mod teams in the country the chance to compete against each other and to test their combos for the upcoming season. There are two important elements here at work. The first is making sure that the new parts and pieces you have added to your racing program are going to help it and the second is actually getting back behind the wheel and into a competitive mindset.
Drag racing is as cerebral a motorsport as exists in the world today and that is because it requires incredible pin-point focus to be good on the starting line and in the world of pro modified drag racing it is a gunfight up there that one cannot afford to lose. So, for those racers who have not “taken reps” since last fall, this is a way for them to get their head right and it is a way for the crew chiefs to get their machines right before jumping into crowded qualifying sessions at places like Bradenton or Gainesville where the NMCA and NHRA are opening up on successive weeks.
Fun stuff and great photos!
