Boy, it sure looks like Thomas Lindstrom and his pro stock car are cooked, right? After all, when you see a fast moving drag car with that relationship to the proper direction down the strip, bad things are sure to come. For starters, Lindstrom actually drove his way out of this mess and believe it or not, he didn’t hit a damned thing. In fact, he jumped out of the car and gave one of the more inspired and fun reactions to the crowd we’ve seen out of a professional class driver before. He’s a showman, whether he intended to be or not! This video was taken at Santa Pod last weekend at the same race where the nutso top fuel motorcycle incident took place which qualifies in and of itself as an amazing “save” but this one is all on the driver.

As we were watching this we kept trying to reference a car that was more out of shape that we’ve seen NOT crash at the drags, especially in pro stock but we could not do it. Like Quain Stott’s gasser save we showed you last week, this was a case of a very quick reflexed driver “staying ahead” of the car and when it gets to yawing wildly back and forth, he’s sawing the wheel the other way in the hopes to get it turned in that direction. Ultimately his efforts were successful and we were left with this stunning piece of video.
