There are moments in ever racer’s career that bring both joy and trepidation. It was a big deal for David Vantine to make the final round at the ManCup World Finals a couple of weeks back. It was even cooler that he’d be facing off against one of the best top fuel motorcycle riders in history in the form of Larry “Spiderman” McBride in said final round. On the flip side of running against a racing legend and all of the good feelings that brings up is the reality that you will be trying to stop one of the greatest guys who has ever zipped up the leathers in the history of the game. While David Vantine did not see the win light at Valdosta in the finals, the race was hardly one that the team will hang their heads about. In fact, they made the great video below which recounts their entire weekend of running hard and fast and standing toe to toe with a giant in the finals.

David Vantine Runner-Ups in Valdosta

David Vantine and the Pollard Nitrosports team finished off 2014 with a consistent, if not earth-rotating, weekend at the Manufacturers Cup World Finals at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta. The yellow, Greg Pollard-built Top Fuel motorcycle outlasted Sam Wills in round 1 before runner-upping to Vantine’s mentor Larry “Spiderman” McBride in the final.
