(Photos by Bob Paxton) – The Kontinentals car club puts on the yearly Day of the Drag Race (Day of the Drags) event and they have been holding it at Little River Raceway in Holland, Texas for years. The event is interesting in that it brings out all kinds of stuff. From the blown altered you see above to the gasser and period old school stuff that you see below. This year Bob Paxton provided lots of photos from the race for us to share and this is the first of several galleries we’ll be posting from the event.

Races like this really work when they are held in the right place and Little Rive Raceway is a spectacularly old school little strip to have this race at. The wooded area, the pretty narrow strip, the little timing tower, all of it really exudes the feel that it needs to in order to make all these old cars and nostalgia loving people feel right at home.
