It’s only logical: someone had an ATV and loved to race it. They saw sand drags and thought, “Hey, you know what would be cool?” and the next thing anybody knew, a sociopathic Yamaha Banshee on paddle tires was lined up in the dirt next to a Christmas tree, waiting for the green light to come on. This footage, which comes from Newton Dragway in Virginia, shows you what kind of fun is out there. Quads with extended front and rear frames with seriously pissed-off engines, paddles, and wheelie bars all take runs at the 300 foot course. The ATVs pictured are in the Extreme Unlimited class, which apparently means go nuts. And that is what you would have to be to twist the throttle all the way on one of these things. Two stroke, four stroke, whatever…it looks like the mother of bad decisions, which means we can’t wait for a turn. I call dibs on the Banshee!
