(Photos by Mike Brooks) – Yesterday we showed you some great photos from the Sunday Niagra nostalgia drags and car show held at what was formerly known as Lancaster Speedway in New York. The facility is just outside of Buffalo and has served as a drag racing hub for decades. This even celebrates a track that has since passed into the annals of history and it brought out a lot of great cars. When we saw the big Chevrolet wagon that’s up top in the lead photo, our eyes nearly bugged out because it is a large barge and it is yanking the front wheels! Mike Brooks tells us that the driver of that car has owned it since new.

Events like this one are popular around the country now as racers love to remember the tracks they raced at in their youths or that they shared a lot of memories at when growing up. Being able to honor the track’s memory with the smells of burning rubber and race gas is perfect and that’s why stuff like the York US 30 reunion. Pocono Drag Lodge Reunion, and on and on, have exploded in popularity. This looks like it was a great show!
