Drag Gallery: Maple Grove Mega Mopar Action Weekend — All Strip Action All The Time!

Drag Gallery: Maple Grove Mega Mopar Action Weekend — All Strip Action All The Time!

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – This is our final dispatch of bitchin’ Joe Grippo photos from the 2013 Mega  Mopar Action weekend at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania. No car show or sittin’ around photos in this gallery, it is all drag strip action…wall to wall! This is a pretty serious race as you’ll see such Hemi luminaries as Ray Barton, Jim Pancake, Fred Perkins, and more. Along with the mighty SS/AH cars you’ll see all sorts of bad ass street machinery like the Coronet below which looks to be about the meanest SOB we’ve see in some time. Seriously, that is one hell of a street bruiser and we have no idea what it actually runs!

No more jibbah-jabbah, click the link below to see all the coolness from Maple Grove as captured by Joe Grippo’s lens!

I love seeing wheelies but don’t like doing them. They cut your ET.
    Great Pics.

    2 things:

You proclaim: “No car show or sittin’ around photos in this gallery, it is all drag strip action…wall to wall!” So, then, the part of the RACETRACK shown in pics 151106 to 151121 is covered in grass?

The actual title of the event was The 2013 Mega Mopar Action weekend. It was very disappointing, therefore, to have space that could have been utilised to showcase actual MOPARS wasted on autos such as that butt-ugly Pontiac wagon. Even though I do appreciate the fine cars which have been produced by every auto manufacturer.

Other than that, keep up the great work, showcasing the autos you feature on this site.

As stated in an earlier blog post about this event, the Saturday portion featured Mopars vs. The World, as in all makes. Sunday was Mopar only. We wanted to show the entire event. Sorry if some show car pics snuck into this gallery.

      Thanks checking it out anyway.

I may have over reacted, after reading the “all- action, no sittin'” line, then seeing 15 pics in a row of just that – sittin’. Then, being a die-hard Mopar fan, I still can’t help but wonder what was bumped to make room for that wagon. Which I still think is U-G-L-Y. But, like I have never disappointed anyone………..
