In a mind boggling performance, the famed EKanoo Racing Lexus bodied pro mod has made the quickest run in the history of full bodied drag race cars. Powered by a ProLine Racing Engines hemi braced up with twin 94mm turbos the car rocketed to a 5.44 second clocking during an Arabian Drag Racing League event in Bahrain. The time slip is below for you to check out and if you feel your eyes bugging out of your head don’t be alarmed, ours did that too.
The interesting thing about the run is while it is the quickest full bodied car run of all time, it is not the fastest. They were about 1mph away from that number with their 273mph terminal speed but we’re feeling like it is only a matter of time before they lock down that end of things as well.
The most impressive part of the slip to us is the 1.762 second “back half” of the run. The front half was plenty juicy as well with a sixty foot time of .981 seconds, and an eighth mile elapsed time of 3.683. The speed numbers are mighty as well. 219 in the eighth mile and 273 out the gate is a 54 mph gain and while that in itself isn’t newsworthy it is when you are STARTING at 219!
This is an incredibly impressive run but we’re feeling like this is the tip of the iceberg for what the 2017 drag racing year is going to look like. Crazy times people, crazy time.
