I have never wanted $10,000 in immediate disposable income more in my entire life. That’s the “Buy it now” price on this 1962 Willys wagon gasser style hot rod and we think that it is pretty legit for a running, driving fun machine with a tunnel ram equipped small block, and a look that you are never going to be sharing with someone else at the local swap meet or even the local nostalgia drags, right? The awesome nose high stance combined with the fender well headers that you can see plain as day running down those big front wheel openings have me literally stuttering.
A few years ago a guy put a picture of this thing on my Facebook page and there was no other accompanying information other than him surmising that I’d really be into the whole thing. By God he was right! Virtually all of the stuff I find and post that is for sale I would love to have but the reality is that I’d REALLY like to have this thing to roll around in. It looks right off the pages of the old CARtoons magazine or something. Eventually I think it would need a blower, but as is, the thing is flipping awesome.
Take all of this and then add in the fact that it has a four speed in it and that it is slathered in that kind of panel style paint that I’m a total sucker for and you have a recipe for absolute cruising perfection. I think the asking price of $10,000 is on the money for this thing because I think building it would likely set you back more than that once you got done finding a clean Willys wagon and modifying it for the look and to the mechanical degree that this one is.
Maybe I am blinded by love and my own tastes but what do you think? Worth the $10,000?

It would have been very easy to make this beauty look like a small girl wearing her mother’s shoes – we all know how awkward and out of proportion that looks!
But the builder understood subtlety and some how avoided this – so as it based on a Jeep, how come it isn’t Mopar powered?
A blown early Hemi would slot in just fine – and you would pay a bit less for the car minus the engine and trans…
The Willys is priced right! The only change would to replace the straight axle with a dropped axle. Nose in the air is not my cup of tea.
