(Photots by Brad Klaassen) – The other day we showed you some cool old school style straight axle drag cars and BangShift photo contributor Brad Klaassen knew that he had something to add to that pile. Brad sent us a great gallery of gassers from the Nostalgia Nationals at Tulsa last summer. There are some really boss cars in this group and as you’ll see, they can all run hard. The big burnouts, wheelstands, and low elapsed times are proof of that fact. You may recognize some of these cars from other galleries we posted in 2013 because we saw them at tracks like Bowling Green and at least one other that is currently escaping us. That’s not a complaint, we’d watch these guys every day and twice on Sunday, given the chance!
As you are reading this, BS Eastern World HQ is being hammered with the second snow storm of the week with word of another on the way. This gasser gallery from a warm summer day in Tulsa sure does wonders for our mental state. The anti-hot rodding powder may be falling hard and fast outside, but in here we’re enjoying a nice summer day with bitchin’ hot rods. Thanks, Brad!

I love those old Gassers. There’s a boy in a nearby town that has one for sale. I’d buy it in a heartbeat if he come down on it. $10,000 for just the body and fame is way to high. He claims he saw a 51 Henry J Gasser like his go for $90,000 on Barrett – Jackson. One might have, but I’ll bet it had an engine and fancy paint job.

Gassers really rule. These cars really epitomized the look of a “drag racing” car, with the attitude and stance.
