The Southeast Gassers Association puts on some of the most fun drag racing in the world. Period. It’s an awesome series with old school gassers being driven like God intended and they certainly know how to put on a show. That’s why every single venue is packed with spectators and racers. We love this series and one of our favorite things are the names and characters that have been created by the owners, drivers, and teams. With the ladies of the Southeast Gassers Association also playing a big part in the starting line antics and the looks of the series, it’s a full team effort and we dig it.
In the video below, you’ll find all the action from the SEGA race at Knoxville Dragway!
Video Description:
When the Southeast Gassers Association rolls into Knoxville Dragway, it’s always an exciting time. This track is such a great venue for an old school gasser drag race, and the SEGA racers were flying down the eighth-mile track in Maynardville, Tennessee. The weather conditions were not favorable, so the racers fought the cars all day, but it led to an exciting series of final round battles in A/Gas, B/Gas, C/Gas, Super Stock, A/FX and H/Gas.
This is not an all-inclusive coverage, as I was also shooting photos for All Chevy Performance magazine. Sorry if I missed some of the action, but I tried my best to do the still photography and video stuff. Either way, I had a blast and the gasser action was as good as ever. You can see more content on the @SoutheastGassersAssociation channel.
In this video you’ll see ’55 Chevy gassers, a wild Green Anglia gasser, several Nova gassers, and so much more. Of course, you’ll see Adam Lowhorn in the Rod Slinger Falcon doing his signature long burnouts, open door dry hop and gear-banging wheel stands. One of the cars that debuted at the SEGA Knoxville race was the H/Gas Anglia driven by Colby Welch. This car is going to be tough to beat. He had a couple hiccups, but that Pontiac 4 cylinder is STOUT. A/FX also saw the debut of Jeffrey Ferguson’s WILD Chevy II altered wheelbase car.
Class Winners:
H/Gas – Colby Welch
A/FX – Daniel Haynes
Super Stock – Jerry Dean
C/Gas – Todd Oden
B/Gas – Ken Rainwater
