Hot Rodding Is Fun Video: The Hagerty Straight Eight Buick Build Get Attention – More Fun Around The Shop

Hot rodding is fun because of so many reasons but the main one is the small personal challenges that every hot rodder deals with along the way. When you get your nifty speed parts and they don’t exactly want to work together you get to make that happen with your ace mechanic’n skills and that is what we see here when Davin at Hagerty pairs up a classic performance intake manifold with a modern split tube header.

As the Buick is not a crossflow engine, all that stuff mounts and lives on the same side of the engine and needs to not only fit on the studs but has to actually work with each other. You’ll see what  he has to do to complete the mechanical massage that is involved in getting it all to fit.

Between working on the Buick engine, Davin gets into a few other projects around the shop like messing with the wheels and tires for their vintage racer build and hauling them all to the tire shop in the back of the killer Advance Design era Chevy truck that serves as their shop runner.

The Buick engine build has been fascinating because it’s really gone the extra mile to show how some creative thinking can upgrade a classic engine, what and where the pitfalls are, and how you can eek a little more power out of the thing with the use of the later Buick valves, a more aggressive camshaft, this intake/header combo, and more.

Hopefully he is able to have it running soon!
