Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will make you miss the hot summer days quite like resorting to a soft-blow hammer and a flat blade screwdriver to chisel your way into your own car, or taking a pocket torch to the key lock cylinder in the hopes that you can even unlock the frozen brick. Even in the hot and humid Kentucky weather, I’d rather enjoy summer than freeze for one more minute. I am not set up for winter…or you can say it, I’m an absolute wuss in the cold. Whatever…say hi to the polar bear with a soda in it’s hand and get one for me, too. As I’m thawing out behind the computer screen dressed in layers…still…this footage from this year’s LS Fest brings back happy memories, and not just ones involving temperatures in the 90s. Sitting up in the announcer’s booth doing a hack job of what Lohnes does while watching the racing was a solid highlight of this year’s experience, and another was checking out the trucks that came out to play. Nothing against F-bodies and Chevy-swapped Mustangs, but watching pickup trucks trying to tear the slicks off of the wheels at launch is always fun to watch.
