Hot Saw Action! Watch Chainsaws Powered By V8s, Four Bangers, and More In Competition

It’s the part of any lumberjack competition that gearheads love. Its’s a place where creativity and wackiness being supreme, and it is a place where the objective is like any other drag race in the world, low elapsed time. We’re talking about the wild world of hot saws and how they may actually represent the pinnacle of human ingenuity. Ok fine, may be that is overstating it but the point still stands. These things are bad ass.

You will see more Predator carbs in this video than you have seen in probably every other video combined and you will also see a bunch of different engine types. There are more than a couple little aluminum GM small blocks of the Buick and Olds variety shown here. There are also a couple of V8s that we couldn’t get a close ID on. Maybe your eyes are better than ours.

As you may imagine, most of the saw operators in the video are not exactly spring chickens. You’ve got to have a little ass on you to get the job done and handle one of these things. Between actually heaving it up on the log and then throwing your entire weight on the saw to force it through the wood as quickly as possible, you’d got to have some mass all around.

We dig this video because every saw is different. There are all someone’s best idea for getting the job done and we love the fact that not all of them are all that great. Very cool and proof that motorsports fun can be had when there isn’t a wheel or tire in sight.

Not sure how I haven’t made it to one of these Logger rodeos. 215 powered saws are so damn cool! Wonder if they run em on nitro?
