(Photos by Mark Rebilas) – Well guys it is that time once again. Time for the yearly Mark Rebilas “Best of 2016” photos! In today’s installment Mark has concentrated on his NHRA drag racing images and he has some real doozies in there. From massive fireballs like you see emanating from the back of Terry McMillan’s car to the inferno that Dan Stevenson suffered at Gainesville, there were plenty of moments on and off the track to be captured.
This is not just a collection of stuff exploding or on fire. There are some fantastic human interest photos, some cool “set” shots that Mark did with the DSR teams, and there’s plenty of photographic art to admire as well. From the strange beauty of parachutes being deployed to the sights and sounds that the fans experience at the track, Mark seems to have the ability to capture it all.
