(Photos by David Whealon) – We’re back with more coverage of the recent Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event from GALOT Motorsports Park in North Carolina. Competitors from all over the NHRA’s Division 2 region were on the grounds doing their best to gather points and vie not only for divisional glory but sportsman national championships. Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, stock eliminator, super stock eliminator, competition eliminator, super comp, and a whole bunch more were contested at this race on the eighth mile and a good time was had by all.

This is the most frenetic time of the year in the sport of drag racing. As the spring is filled with hope and promise, the fall is filled with the need to win, the drive for a championship, and the knowledge that the racing days left in the year are fleeting. If you’re going to get your licks in for a personal best or perhaps a race win, now is the time to get out there and do it.
