It is with sadness that we have to report the passing of 24-year-old Katarina “Kat” Moller, one of the drivers for the jet dragster team of Larsen Motorsports. Moller had been driving the “American Dream” jet dragster during an exhibition run at an event at Sebring International Speedway in Florida when, ultimately, something went wrong and in the course of the accident, a young life who had a desire for racing ended too soon.
Moller was right where she wanted to be, however. At the age of eleven she was already in junior dragsters and as she got older, she moved up to sportsman cars and dragsters before ultimately getting behind the wheel of her first jet dragster in 2014. She was on her fifth season with Larsen Motorsports and had been looking forward to her first runs at Sebring.
In a statement released on Larsen Motorsports’ Facebook page:
“24-year-old Jet Dragster driver, Kat Moller, died from injuries sustained in a crash at Sebring International Raceway while making an exhibition run Thursday night. Chris Larsen, CEO of Larsen Motorsports expressed deep sympathy and heartbreak for the Moller family. “Kat has been part of our racing family for 5 years and we cannot begin to express our sorrow,” stated Larsen. Your prayers in this very difficult time are appreciated.”
When you are young and are learning your place in the world, and are figuring out what it is you want to do with your life, you are often told that risk and reward go hand-in-hand. I can’t say I knew Kat…we might have met once, ever, but I know the Larsen team and without question, she was in good hands and the best equipment possible, and was learning with great tutorship from Elaine, Chris and everyone else behind the scenes. She was happy and she was exactly where she wanted to be. It is sad to know that she is gone so soon, and we add our condolences, thoughts, prayers, and support to the Moller family, Larsen Motorsports, and the folks at Sebring International.
Rest easy, Kat.
Godspeed. Been a bad year for jet dragsters in Florida.
Rest in peace, hope there are good tracks in the other side 🙁
RIP Kat

Jet dragsters scare the crap out of me. When they roll to the line, I find something else to do.
