Now this is a new one on us. We have never seen a guy fly a car backwards and hit NOTHING. NHRA Pro Mod racer Jeff Jones took the wildest ride of his life at the NHRA Fall Texas Nationals last weekend. As you will see, the car begis to lose traction down course and it rotates on its axis. At this point things usually take a severe turn for the worst, but for Jeff Jones, they didn’t. Floating like a leaf and staying relatively close to the Earth, Jones’ car made a complete turn and not even the wheelie bars got the wall. Hell, he barely even crossed the center line while all this was going on.
It has been labeled the best save of all time and while it seems a little crazy to label it a “save”, Jones was driving this thing the whole way through it all. Whether instinct or amazing split second decision making, his manipulation of the steering wheel did aid the car from smashing into the bright green concrete walls at the Texas Motorplex.
We’d go into more detail but the reality of the situation is that this video is worth one million words. Insane!
