Toyota Racing and Kalitta Motorsports teamed up to take a Top Fuel engine and do a cutaway version so people can really see the inside of one of these beasts. It’s funny, because even a lot of car folks think there is more to one of these than there is. It’s a 500 cubic inch pushrod V8 with a giant supercharger on it and a fuel pump that can cram more fuel into an engine than anyone would have believe was possible. With lots of air and lots of fuel comes lots of power, and these things make that power well.
Yes they don’t live long, but they don’t have to, and they are truly the most evil and crazy powerplants on the planet. Which is why Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars are so much fun to watch and feel and hear. It’s good stuff for sure.
