It’s Killin’ Time! Stevie Fast Jackson Takes First NHRA Pro Mod Win In Topeka!

It’s Killin’ Time! Stevie Fast Jackson Takes First NHRA Pro Mod Win In Topeka!

By his own account, this is the biggest most important race win of Stevie Fast Jackson’t career. The final round re-match from the NHRA Atlanta race saw Jackson looking over to see Mike Castellana in the mighty Frank Mnazo tuned AAP Camaro. In Atlanta Castellana got Jackson on a hole shot and Stevie has been smarting over it ever since. After the semi-final round in Topeka where Stevie ran in the first pair he got out of his car and ran to the TV monitor to see who he would be racing. He was openly begging to get another shot at Castellana to atone for the Atlanta race. He got his wish and in the final round you’ll watch below, he did not screw it up. His .039 light was just what the doctor ordered when Castellana was more tardy than he wanted to be.

Jackson is an electrifying figure in the NHRA right now. He has a huge and loyal fanbase that are paying attention to the NHRA for the first time in a long time. Jackson’s wide smile and ability to entertain fans not only with his race car but with his jaw have endeared him to fans. He was the number one qualifier in Gainesville at the first race of the season but broke a transmission during first round eliminations and did not advance. He was a non-qualifier a few weeks ago and between then and now brought on Billy Stocklin to assist him with tuning the car. That addition seemed to be the last piece of a puzzle that really set his car and his team over the top.

His elation when he’s handed the Wally is palpable. Jackson is not afraid to tell anyone that’ll listen that he ultimately wants to race top fuel cars. He knows it won’t be today or tomorrow but he also knows that he’s never failed to accomplish the things he has set out to do in the sport of drag racing thus far. The sky is the limit for this guy and we cannot want to see his career progress not only in the NHRA but also in the various other racing he does with his drag radial car.

As a personal aside, it was pretty amazing to be able to call this race with Dave Reiff live on the Fox Sports 1 television show. There will be more to come on the FS1 J&A Service Pro Mod tv show but letting the massive live audience see this go down and in the entertaining fashion it did was awesome.

      You are kidding right?

This was a bootleg deal someone taped off of their tv. There was an interview on the tv show live and there was an interview on the return road with the other champions.
