(Photos by Benoit Pigeon) – When Benoit Pigeon sent us his great collection of photos from the recent EOPM/NOPI event at Atlanta Dragway we were interested in seeing the “clash of cultures” between the traditional drag racing people in the form of the pro mod racers and the “tuner” crowd of the typical NOPI audience. The best part? It seems that both of these groups had a great time and melded together in a happy stew because in this gallery you will see awesome pro mods racing down the strip in Atlanta along with stuff like Lamborghinis, burnout contests, and perhaps a totally pissed FWD Honda or two. Stuff like this is important to the hobby and the car culture in general because it proves that despite our differences in preference and style of hot rod, we can all hang out and have fun.
Yes, we’ll admit that we prefer the pro mods over the rest of the stuff but we love the fact that all of these guys and girls who are into cars got together and had a great time. We’d be really interested to see if NOPI takes this program and expands it more because it seems like a great way to get these two seemingly different (and huge) sides of the car hobby together!
