Less Show, More Go: This Square-Body Chevy Grudge Racer Is An Exercise In Simplicity…And Brutality!

Less Show, More Go: This Square-Body Chevy Grudge Racer Is An Exercise In Simplicity…And Brutality!

Your mind is the only real limitation you have when it comes to building up a square-body GM truck right. Pick an engine, pick a trans, pick a rearend that you won’t shatter like glass at the first big hit of the throttle and make sure it looks legal enough to be wearing plates and you are good to go, friend. I don’t want to say “idiotproof” because nothing can escape a very talented idiot, but the amount of wrong you actually need to infuse to screw up a Chevy truck build like this is beyond comprehension. This late-1980s Chevy has been floating around for a bit…plane-jane white with the wear and tear of a truck that was used properly before it went under the knife to become the monster it is today. In usual grudge fashion, we have no idea what is truly going on underneath the hood, though we suspect a big block and maybe a bottle hidden out of sight. We dig that the rear slicks are still running the Chevy truck rally wheels that were probably standard issue for this rig!

    No time.

Sorry, but this is what will kill racing. It looks as fast, or as slow, as nearly anything out there. N/T is bullshit.

I know the idea is to get people off the street and onto the track, and I support that. But if they’re racing N/T, the folks in the stands have little to cheer for, and frankly I’m right there with them. The track gives you truckloads of hook and you can really see what your beast can do… hiding this from the audience is fine if you’re in the sub 6’s range. Otherwise, you’re a douchebag dickhead and if you’re racing for less than $20k, you’re screwing everyone around. Die.
