(Photos courtesy of TurboSmart batteries) – The buzz around the amazing Lights Out 7 event at South Georgia Motorsports Park has yet to tie down and the major reason is that the news just keeps on coming. Event promoter Donald Long recently announced the fact that the purse for the No Mercy event in the fall will be $55,100 and the purse for Radial vs The World at next year’s Lights Out race will be $100,000. Clearly there’s the fan base and sponsor base to raise that kind of money but there are some things that will need to happen on the logistical side of the event to handle what will surely be an insanely massive field of cars and another “Woodstock” style event with the spectators.

People love this style of racing for a multitude of reasons. The cars are relatable. There is some diversity in equipment. The people have personalities. The cars have names. There is wreckage, great driving, upsets, and emption all over the place.
