(Photos by Benoit Pigeon) – There’s nothing like the start of a new racing season, right? Hope springs eternal, new parts are still new, the paint jobs and updated looks that make racers debut are exciting. Overall it is avery fun time of the year to be a fan. Benoit Pigeon experienced this first hand recently when he visited GALOT Motorsports Park in North Carolina to shoot the first “Mad Mule” race of the 2018 season. This is a GALOT series which features some of the most awesome pro mods in the country.
This time around it was a nitrous heavy show and it was Tommy Franklin who claimed victory at the end of the show and he beat Jay Cox in the final to claim the title and get the big check. Benoit reports that high winds hampered testing and perhaps gave some racers fits during the weekend program.
We enjoy his photos because there’s no wind to contend with and they are chock full of killer door slammers!
Great shots These cars are the future of drag racing
When was this race run?
