The Precision Transmission channel on YouTube may just be the best thing you’ve never seen before. Why? Because every video is an exploration, an education, and a study in how an expert in a given field of subject matter actually works. It is completely bad ass and one of the greatest technical rabbit holes we have ever ventured down. They post frequent videos and they’re all about getting into the guts of a transmission to see why it failed, how to correct mistakes, or in the case of the 1967 Muncie 4-speed we see here, rebuild it back to factory freshness.
This is not just ripping bolts out and showing off parts. The explanations that come from the inspection are gold. What to look for with wear, what failure points exist, what mistakes people make when they take these apart and put them back together. It’s really freaking awesome. All the while, the expert hands of the host are working, uninterrupted. This guy doesn’t waste time, movement, or effort in going about his work like a surgeon.
