(Photos by Charles Wickam) – We promised that we would be back all week with photo greatness from our own Charles Wickam who braved the elements, errant golf carts (seriously, a junior dragster parent ran him over), sideways pro mods, and more nitrous than you can shake a stick at. The weekend may have been more damp than anyone wanted, but the racing action was amazing with guys running deep, deep, deep into the 3.50 range and Jason Scruggs ran an insane 219mph lap. That’s in 660′, done by a car with doors and suspension. Mind boggling insanity!

OK, so here’s millions of dollars worth of fine racing machinery that can’t put one single paying ass in the stands. What is wrong ? Maybe the worst investment of all time. This has appeal to who? Track promoters will not survive with this type of attendance. Why build grand stands? How stupid is that! Then wonder why tracks are closing.
