(Photos by Wes Allison) – If there is one thing that you can never call a DXP Productions drag race, it’s predictable. Whether with the action on the track with the best small tire racers, the most powerful drag radial cars, or the fun people have (see the massive inflatable chicken suit), it’s a great show. This year, No Mercy was part of what got dubbed “Duck Week”. This was because Donald Long ran the reschedule Sweet 16 3.0 right before No Mercy and the racers mostly stayed through both events.
Having spent many weeks working at SGMP during DXP races, I can only image what the place was like by the time everything was sewed up and done at No Mercy. We’re guessing that the racers and the track officials needed a vacation from the sport, from the work, and from each other!
Enjoy this fresh collection of images that capture the fury and frivolity of the starting line as well as the quiet nature of the pits as service is happening.
