Fun Video: This Motorcycle Enthusiast Bought A Used Orange County Choppers Chopper – The Review Is Awesome

I think we can all remember that magical era of television when you literally could not turn the sucker on without seeing, hearing about, or being attacked by Orange County Choppers. The guys took a humble little motorcycle business and eventually blew it up into its own cotttage industry. Of course, what goes up must come down and eventually OCC certainly did come down, dragged under by the weight of things like restaurants and other “brand building” exercises. But what about the bikes? Were they any good? Did they ride well? Perform well? Time to find out.

In this video, the host has purchased an OCC built chopper and he bought it straight from the guy who received it on the show. Originally valued at some $80,000 he bought it for way less and he goes over the whole thing. He rides it, explains its mannerisms, and even straps it to the dyno for the most revealing part of the whole video.

I’m not a motorcycle guy by nature. I know little about them but I have always been curious as to how a chopper with absolutely no suspension would be to ride around. This video clearly, honestly, and in an entertaining way, answered my questions.

  1. Rusty Rives

Any vehicle built as part of a TV show or Youtube channel should be looked at with skepticism. These are built for entertainment and views, not for a good running vehicle. Pretty much any show that has pimped someone’s vehicle or overhauled it has horror stories from the vehicles owner associated with it. Youtubers are as bad or worse- painting over rust, doing half assed repairs, etc. It is all for the sake a hero shot at the end and some views. I like a lot of the folks out there making content and I have restored a few cars, so I know that to do the bodywork correct would take months and be boring to watch (and not make them money)- I get it. But the hackery should come with a warning…
