One of the craziest things about making the NHRAonFOX TV shows is that even with the size of the crew we have, all the talented shooters, producers, tape room people, and others, we still can’t get EVERYTHING. Sure, we get loads of stuff but there’s always room for more. The NHRA social media department continues to grow and in 2021 they crushed the idea of shooting top end behind the scenes video during the final rounds and it was one of the best weekly features drag racing fans had to look forward to. This video captures the best top end footage from the season and we dig it.
From John Force seemingly trying to will Brittany to victory in Topeka to Matt Smith chugging beer out of his shoe in Dallas, there are some very real and some very fun moments here. Steve Johnson and Jock Allen talking to the Wally, Eddie Krawiec losing his mind when he won Indy, and we could go on for days. So much neat stuff happens when we have to go to commercial, thankfully we now have the people there to capture it in the raw.
