Ohio Mile Coverage – More Cool Cars and LSR Bikes From The ECTA’S MAY 2015 MEET

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – If you are looking for diversity in motorsports, you’re on the right track when peering into the ECTA and land speed racing.  This gallery has just a bit of everything.  There’s the ‘Stinkin Lincoln’ that has rose from a beloved car that was flooded during hurricane Katrina to running 177mph at this event.

A Chevy HRR sporting hunter green paint being hurled forward by an Ecotec four and hauling down from speed assisted by a parachute.  That is not a soccer-mom ride.  How about a purple-colored electric motorcycle for different….?  Mark that off the list cause it’s in here.  A modern-day Blues Brothers-mobile, 9C1 impala running 130+ isn’t something you see often.

Try this on – a FIAT 500 running well into the triple-digits.  Who knew a golf cart could go so fast.  I’ve got to mention the folks out there making laps and having fun doing it.  The blown, yellow ZO6 and the Mercedes coupe made more laps than any other ride (unless one of those quiet bikes was sneaking by).  Towards the end of the run window on Sunday they were hot-lapping and eventually became about the only stuff in staging.  They definitely got their ‘seat time’ at this event.  Enjoy the photos.
