NTPA Pinetops 300: More Action Photos From One Of The Coolest Pulls In The USA

NTPA Pinetops 300: More Action Photos From One Of The Coolest Pulls In The USA

(Photos by David Whealon) – The coolest events are the ones that have history and an intimate feel that you just can’t fake. Such is the case with the yearly NTPA Pinetops pull. Held in the small town of Pinetops, North Carolina some of the meanest and strongest trucks and tractors in the country come in and literally take over the town for this long running start to the NTPA season. The pulling course itself is tucked behind a ball field in the town and the roads literally become the pits and staging lanes for the weekend. This is pure Americana at its finest if you ask us, right? We’re thinking that this is the pulling version of the Sandhills Open Road racing that takes place in Nebraska each year with much the same effect. The town is transformed for a weekend with lots and lots of horsepower on tap.

In this collection of David Whealon you’ll see plenty of cool trucks and tractors but one stands out. A three turbine powered monster that is beyond virtually anything we have ever seen before. As always, David’s photos are great and they really capture the action and the fury created by these beastly machines. We say this all the time but you have not lived until you have heard a monster inch Sonny’s engine or multiple engines screaming at full bore, trying to move incredible amounts of weight. Caged thunder for sure!

Great pictures! This is why I love Bang Shift, in one stop I can get my fill of auto news, see some automotive oddities, get a smattering of event coverage and even, when I’m lucky get a trip down nostalgia lane, when events I attended as a child are covered. Thanks for all the hard work guys.
