Cacklin’ Turkey: This Totally Awesome Video Compilation Of Nitro Engine Warmups Is Cackle-tastic

Cacklin’ Turkey: This Totally Awesome Video Compilation Of Nitro Engine Warmups Is Cackle-tastic

We obviously love cool drag racing videos. This time of the year we get even more excited because we’re always on the hunt for stuff to make us forget that racing is still a ways off in the future. This video is quite literally the best way to cackle yourself into a happy place even if it is colder than a well digger’s backside in January outside.

In his typically great style Les Mayhew made what’s probably the ultimate “warm up” video ever. He combines footage from what seems to be a dozen nitro burning cars and motorcycles as they get their engines up to temperature before heading to the staging lanes. There are modern top fuelers and funnies, nostalgia fuelers and funnies, a nitro motorcycle, and who knows whatever else.

The sounds and the scenes are edited in such a way that we get to see each team going through their respective procedure and that’s great. Look at the way crew chiefs dote on the engines or the way drivers sit in their cars is cool. The sound is amazing and one of the neat things you can pick up on is the difference in that sound between the nostalgia cars and the modern cars. There are certainly differences and things to compare. As usual Les crushes it with this video. No overbearing music, distracting narration, or stuff to take away from the story at hand. As usual, we’re going full fan boy and telling you to watch this!

Nitromethane was never a fertilizer. It is an industrial cleaning solvent. If it is mixed with ammonium nitrate, which is a fertilizer, you get ANFO which is an explosive commonly used in IEDs.
