We have come to expect certain things out of videos that are taking during no prep races, right? Sideways runs, tons of steering, wall to wall action, massive wheelies…wait, what? Yeah, in the case of this Pontiac Firebird that Urban Hillbilly Action Videos captured during the No Prep Mayhem race at Kansas International Dragway. This car is a wheel standing son of a gun and the dude can drive it as well. Yes, you’ll see him nearly make wall contact but nearly making wall contact is like being nearly pregnant. You either hit it or you don’t and this guy does not.
One of the misnomers about no prep racing is that the track has no bite and that there’s no traction available. While it is majorly reduced over traditional drag race prep, he track is usually on freaking kill by the end of a race day because the race car runs themselves are actually prepping the thing as time goes on. As each car does it burnout and leaves the starting line they season the track a little more and a little more as time goes on.
All this being said, “no prep” wheelies are bad ass and clearly this guy showed up with a plan, and likely some weight in the trunk of the car. He put on an airshow for the packed house at KID and the fans loved it. The thing has to be super fun to drive, right?
