We Went On The Internet, And Found A 604ci Rear-Engined Third-Gen Firebird That Is Mimicking A Ferrari!

In the world of internet meme jokes, “That’s enough Internet for one day” means that you’ve finally come across something so surprising and shocking that you feel the need to finally disconnect from the computer for a bit. The internet being what it is, that could be anything from a bad music video to something so NSFW that you’ll end up on some kind of government watch list. In our case, however, we came across what started life as a 1982 Pontiac Firebird and have spent the last few hours trying to decipher just what, exactly, happened to the F-body between then and now.

With Ferrari Testarossa cues and later-model Corvette wheels and bits tacked on, you might be quick to write this car off as a Fauxrarri, but don’t. The 604ci big-block Chevrolet mill isn’t a bad start, but one look at where the engine is actually located will tell you everything you need to know…this is one seriously bad Bird. And when it fires off…well, we’ve never heard a big-block Chevy sound like that before. This is a freakshow in all of the right ways! Everybody might be clamoring for the mid-engined Corvette, but the rear-engined Pontiac that isn’t a Fiero is making quite an argument for itself!

Good to see somebody copying a few of the mechanical features instead of just the styling!

A similarly oddball replica I recently saw had started as a C3 Corvette with a Ferrari Daytona body – and a BMW V12 under the hood.

Frankencars such as this should be burnt with the builder sealed inside them!

I give him lots of props for the amount of work, and level of execution. Haters are going to hate, but I tip my hat to you sir.
