Every Southeast Gassers Association race is a flashback to the 1960’s, which is why everyone loves going to their races so much. These races are all about the showmanship and the fun and excitement that drag racing fans want to experience. With wheels up attitudes, and launches, these cars really do stand out from the crowd and offer fans something they won’t often see anywhere else. And with an insane number of different cars, with totally different combos, there is something for everyone. It’s no longer just about the competition, but also about the characters that these cars have become.
Our friend Tommy Lee Byrd, aka the Hot Rod Hoarder, was at Shadyside for the Southeast Gassers recently and in the video below he put together 16 of the coolest combos he saw while there shooting. The Southeast Gassers Association is home of the coolest gassers on the planet. This group features diehard racers who put together wild combos of car, engine and driver that make it one of the most unique forms of drag racing in the world. The SEGA Season opener at Shadyside Dragway had some local favorites and unique combos, so I wanted to put together a second video where I talk about some of these combos and show them in action.
