Hollywood Bobby Treadwell is a well known dude in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. His 1936 Plymouth, with is nitrous snorting 632 was well known on the streets and the strips of the area and the car actually showed up on Street Outlaws a time or two. Well, apparently that weapon was not, uhhh, weapony enough and now Treadwell is throwing down with the pro street 1966 GTO and we’re kind of loving every inch of it. This car is fairly early in its current form apparently and Treadwell is still getting the thing sorted out but wow, as wacky as the thing is now, it sure is bad ass fast!
You will see the car making a few runs at the recent Throwdown in T-Town event and while it blows the tires off a time or two, nearly pitches the door off once, and then hauls ass a couple of times we know that its best days are ahead. The last run captured during this Urban Hillbilly Action Video film is the best. The thing comes out, set the nose down, and then when the motor really gets up on the power, it goes into a power wheelie and drives right through it. Pretty bad ass looking thing.
For whatever reason, 1960s Pontiacs made us absolutely bad ass big tire cars. Whether we’re taking GTOs or LeMans or event cars like a Catalina of which there are a couple running around in different categories of drag racing as well, these monsters have a presence all of their own. We’re lacking specs on Treadwell’s car but suffice it to say, he’s packing a load more than 632ci under the sizable nose of this GTO. It’s big, it’s red, and it is bad ass!
I like seeing anything different as long as it looks like what its supposed to…..
This 1966 A\’body is a straight Up Pro Mod design, with a BBC engine with more than 632cui. I\’m familiar with all phases of horsepower & displacement.
The car us also Turbo & Nos assisted so its doing whats expected of it .
